Birmingham is pulling out all the stops this Friday, serving up a feast of live music, late-night dancing, and daytime adventures that stretch from the Jewellery Quarter to Kings Heath and well beyond. Whether you want to lose yourself in soul-drenched grooves, belt out anthems at a arena, or stumble into a basement rave as the clock ticks past midnight, this city has got your evening — and your whole day — covered. Pull on your coat, grab your people, and get ready for one of those Fridays you'll still be talking about on Monday.

Highlights

The Amy Winehouse Band: Back to Black 20th Anniversary Tour — Two decades on, Back to Black remains one of the most achingly brilliant albums ever recorded, and this anniversary tour brings the musicians who played on it back to life in stunning fashion at Symphony Hall — one of the finest concert venues in Europe. Expect all the heartbreak, swagger, and raw vocal drama of the original record, wrapped in the warm acoustics of a room that genuinely does the songs justice. Doors at 7:30pm — check the website for tickets and do not sleep on this one.

Detroit Soul Collective Fri 06 November 2026 The Jam House Birmingham — The Jam House is one of those venues that already feels like a party before the first note lands, and the Detroit Soul Collective are exactly the kind of band built for a room like this — tight, joyful, and drenched in the sound of Motown at its finest. From 6:00pm you can settle in early, get a drink in hand, and let the groove do the rest. Check the website for ticket details, but trust us: a Friday evening of proper soul music in that basement is never a bad idea.

Big Reggae Night Out — The New Bingley Hall goes full sound-system mode tonight as the Big Reggae Night Out rolls into town, promising a proper roots-and-riddims party for anyone who likes their Friday with a little sunshine in it. Priced from £20 and kicking off at 7:00pm, this is the kind of event where the bassline hits you in the chest and you find yourself moving before you've even decided to. Bring friends, wear something comfortable, and prepare to dance.

SYNC x GHASTLY presents: VOIGTMANN — If your Friday night belongs to the dancefloor, Club Colette is where you need to be from 9:00pm as SYNC and GHASTLY join forces to bring in Voigtmann — a selector with a reputation for deep, hypnotic sets that make time genuinely disappear. Tickets are priced at a very reasonable £8–£17, making this one of the best-value underground club nights in the city this week. Go in with an open mind and leave sometime the following morning.

Siobhan Miller — Scottish singer Siobhan Miller has a voice that stops a room cold — achingly pure, emotionally fearless, and rooted in a folk tradition that feels both ancient and completely alive. Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath is an intimate venue that suits her perfectly, creating the kind of up-close experience where every lyric lands like a short story. Tickets are £21 and the show starts at 7:00pm — a beautiful alternative to the bigger stages tonight.

Good Foot - Funk, Soul, Disco & Boogie! — Once the gigs wind down, Good Foot takes over the Hare and Hounds from 10:30pm with an unbeatable selection of funk, soul, disco, and boogie — and at just £2–£6 on the door, it might be the most joyful bargain in Birmingham tonight. This is the kind of club night where everyone from seasoned dancers to curious first-timers finds their groove within about thirty seconds. End your Friday exactly where it deserves to end: on the floor.
