Belfast is one of the most exciting cities in the UK right now. The transformation over the past two decades has been remarkable — from a city defined by conflict to one that is confidently creative, outward-looking, and full of energy. The Titanic Quarter, built around the shipyard where the famous liner was constructed, is now home to one of the world's great interactive museums, film studios (where much of Game of Thrones was shot), and a growing tech and creative hub.

St George's Market on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings is one of the best covered markets in the UK, packed with local traders selling everything from fresh oysters to artisan bread. The restaurant scene around the Cathedral Quarter and the Lisburn Road has matured into something genuinely special, with a focus on local, seasonal ingredients.

The city is easy to explore on foot, and the Black Taxi tours of the murals and peace walls offer a powerful, moving introduction to Belfast's recent history. Beyond the city, the Causeway Coast and the Mourne Mountains are within easy reach, making Belfast a brilliant base for combining urban culture with some of the most beautiful landscapes in the British Isles.
