What's On in Newcastle
Saturday 07 November 2026 · This weekend · City guide
Newcastle is pulling out all the stops this Saturday, stacking the day with everything from sun-drenched afternoon accordion swing to acid house legends and a genuinely emotional farewell from one of punk-folk's most beloved bands. Whether you are easing into the evening with a glass in hand or dancing until dawn, the city has a room, a vibe, and a moment that is absolutely yours for the taking.
Highlights

Queen K & The Kings of Musette — Kick off your Saturday afternoon in the most unexpectedly joyful way possible — with live musette and swing spilling out of Billy Bootleggers from 3:00pm for just £2. Queen K and her band bring that warm, bittersweet Parisian accordion sound to one of Newcastle's most characterful bars, and at this price, it is practically criminal not to pop in. Think red wine, laughter, and the feeling that you are somewhere a little bit magical.
Prof Alice Roberts - From Cell to Civilisation — One of Britain's most beloved science communicators takes to the stage at the O2 City Hall Newcastle at 6:30pm for what promises to be a genuinely mind-expanding evening. Alice Roberts has a rare gift for making the deepest questions about human existence feel urgent, personal, and utterly thrilling — this is a night for the curious, the thoughtful, and anyone who wants their brain gently set on fire. Check the website for ticket prices and do not sleep on this one.
Ferocious Dog: UK Farewell Tour + guests Shanghai Treason & Headsticks — This is the one that will hurt in the best possible way — Ferocious Dog, the Nottingham punk-folk collective who have spent years filling rooms with raw, honest, politically charged music, are saying goodbye on their UK Farewell Tour, and Newcastle's Boiler Shop at 7:00pm is one of the final stops. With Shanghai Treason and Headsticks along for the ride, expect an evening of real emotion, Celtic-tinged fury, and the kind of crowd that sings every word back. Check the website for tickets, and go — you will be telling people about this one for years.

Gipsy Kings by André Reyes — The Glasshouse International Centre for Music across the water in Gateshead hosts an evening of flamenco-fired rumba and Mediterranean fire at 7:30pm, with André Reyes carrying forward one of the most recognisable sounds in world music. This is a show that moves bodies without asking permission — the guitars shimmer, the rhythms are irresistible, and the whole room tends to glow. Check the website for tickets and bring someone you want to impress.

I Love Acid X Me Me Me - DJ Pierre, Posthuman B2B Man Power — From 4:00pm at World Headquarters, two of the UK's most exciting club nights collide in a bill that reads like a love letter to underground electronic music. DJ Pierre, one of the founding architects of acid house, sharing a lineup with the boundary-dissolving Posthuman b2b Man Power is the kind of thing that does not happen every weekend — this is history and the future on the same dancefloor. Tickets are £9–£15 and this will sell out, so move quickly.

AZYR b2b Partiboi69 — NX Newcastle is the place to be from 10:00pm if your Saturday has been building toward something properly unhinged in the best sense — AZYR and Partiboi69 back to back is a collision of driving techno and cheeky, shape-shifting club music that refuses to sit still. Partiboi69 in particular has become something of a cult figure on the global circuit, and this pairing promises a room that will not cool down until well past sunrise. Tickets are £18–£28 and worth every penny.
