Tuesday might not have the reputation of a Friday, but London has never really cared much for convention. From sun-soaked afternoon skating to the sultry rhythms of Brazilian jazz and a punk rock firecracker of a show in New Cross, the city is serving up a genuinely brilliant spread tonight — get out there.

Highlights

School's Out | Rollernation — Summer holidays were made for moments like this: lace up a pair of skates and take to the iconic Rollernation rink from 1:00pm for an afternoon of pure, unfiltered joy. Whether you are a seasoned roller queen or clinging to the barrier for dear life, the atmosphere here is infectious — a swirl of music, colour, and kids absolutely living their best lives. At £16, it is one of the most exhilarating ways to spend a Tuesday afternoon with the family.

Bad Cop Bad Cop | New Cross Inn — Los Angeles punk four-piece Bad Cop Bad Cop bring their fist-in-the-air energy to the reliably brilliant New Cross Inn at 6:00pm, and if you have never seen them tear through a set live, tonight is your chance to fix that. Tight harmonies, blistering riffs, and a genuine sense of camaraderie radiate from every song — this is punk with real heart beneath the noise. Tickets are £20 and the crowd will almost certainly be magnificent.

Bossa Nova - Tribute to João Gilberto - Live at Morocco Bound — Morocco Bound is one of those intimate Bermondsey venues that feels tailor-made for an evening like this: warm lighting, cold drinks, and from 7:00pm, a live tribute to the great João Gilberto that will transport you to a breezy Rio evening without leaving SE1. Bossa nova at its best is one of the most quietly seductive sounds on earth, all featherlight guitar and barely-there vocals, and this promises to be a gorgeous, unhurried night of it. At £20, it is an absolute steal for something this transportive.
