September Weekend in Glasgow and the city is absolutely humming — from soulful afternoon courtyard parties to techno heavyweights rolling into the small hours, Sunday the 27th is the kind of day that reminds you why this city does weekends better than almost anywhere. Whether you fancy a gentle pm start with live country twang by the Clyde or you are still going strong at midnight in a basement rave, Glasgow has laid out a full and glorious spread. Get your coat — or don't.

Highlights

Soul On Sunday Main Indoor Courtyard September Weekend — BAaD is one of Glasgow's most beloved venues and on September Weekend it truly comes into its own, throwing open its doors at 1:00pm for a soul-soaked Sunday session that kicks the afternoon into life. The indoor courtyard setting gives it an intimate, almost communal warmth — the kind of place where strangers become friends over a shared love of a groove. At £18 it is a proper investment in your Sunday happiness, and trust us, you will not regret a penny of it.

An Afternoon with Country Nights — Perched on the banks of the Clyde, The Ferry is a venue with serious atmosphere at the best of times, and at 3:30pm on a September afternoon it becomes the perfect backdrop for some twangy, heartfelt country music. Country Nights has a devoted following in Glasgow and this is a rare chance to catch that rootsy, boot-stomping energy in such a characterful setting. Tickets are just £5–£15, making this one of the best-value feel-good options of the whole weekend.

The Odd Couple (Female Version) Burn The Cork Theatre Co — Burn The Cork Theatre Company bring their fresh, funny take on the classic Neil Simon comedy to The Bungalow Bar in Paisley at 2:00pm, swapping out Oscar and Felix for a brilliantly reimagined female duo and losing absolutely none of the sharp wit in the process. This is warm, accessible theatre at its best — the kind of show that has the whole room laughing out loud and leaving with a glow. At £15 it is a genuinely wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

TW: Khlore, Hektiks, Bulletcharge, Dark Harvest Commandos — If your Sunday leans more toward the loud and ferocious, Nice N Sleazy is the place to be at 7:00pm, with a four-band bill that promises a serious evening of heavy, riff-driven noise. Sleazy's is a Glasgow institution — tiny, sweaty, and utterly unpretentious — and it is exactly the right room for this kind of bill, where every act on the lineup is gunning to blow the roof off. At just £10, this is an absolute steal for a night of raw live music energy.

Elevate : Paco Osuna + Fluer Shore — SWG3 pulls out something genuinely special for September Weekend, bringing Paco Osuna — one of techno and minimal house's most revered names — to Glasgow alongside Fleur Shore for what promises to be a masterclass in dancefloor craft. The Osuna name alone is enough to have heads turning across the electronic music community, and SWG3's cavernous, production-rich space is the perfect canvas for it. Doors open at 9:00pm, tickets are £27–£36, and this one has very serious night-of-the-year energy.

Comedy Club 27th September — The Old Toll Bar is a grand, ornate Glasgow pub with the kind of character that makes every night in it feel like an occasion, and on Sunday the 27th it hosts a proper stand-up comedy club from 8:00pm. At just £5 this is one of the most generous deals on the whole weekend — a chance to sit back, sip something cold, and let some very funny people take care of the rest. Perfect for those who want the buzz of a September Weekend night out without the full-scale club commitment.
