Glasgow is pulling out all the stops this Saturday, with a day that stretches from a morning rave at the Classic Grand all the way through to deep-night club sessions that will still be going strong as Sunday creeps in. Whether you are here for the Barras magic, a pie and a pint of theatre, or a tribute band that will have you air-guitaring in the dark, the city has a version of Saturday that was made exactly for you.

Highlights

Rave Heaven with George Bowie (GBX) — Yes, you read that right — 10:30am and the Classic Grand is already pumping. GBX is a genuine Glasgow institution, and George Bowie has been soundtracking the city's best nights (and apparently now its mornings) for decades. At £10–£35, this is the most gloriously unhinged way to start a Saturday we can imagine.

A Play, A Pie and A Pint: FEEL_GOOD — Oran Mor's beloved lunchtime formula — a brand new short play, a hot pie, and a pint — is one of those Glasgow traditions that never gets old, and FEEL_GOOD sounds like exactly the tonic a Saturday afternoon needs. Doors at 1:00pm, so you can be back in the sunshine before the city has even finished brunch. Check the website for ticket prices.

Annie Mac (Before Midnight) — Annie Mac brings her acclaimed Before Midnight project to the Barrowland Ballroom at 7:00pm, and there are few venues on earth better suited to a night of this magnitude. The Barras has a way of turning a great gig into a transcendent one, and Annie Mac's deep, considered approach to electronic music deserves every inch of that legendary sprung dancefloor. Check the website for tickets.

Tide Lines — Scottish indie-folk heroes Tide Lines step up to the OVO Hydro at 6:30pm for what promises to be a landmark moment in the band's career — this is arena-scale, heartfelt, anthemic stuff that hits hardest when you are surrounded by thousands of people who know every word. If you have not caught them yet, this is the night it becomes a story you tell for years. Check the website for tickets.

Comedy Drag Bingo — ARTA at 2:00pm and the afternoon just got considerably more fabulous — Comedy Drag Bingo is the kind of event where your sides hurt from laughing before a single number has been called. At £25 it is a proper afternoon-out experience, expect sequins, sass, and the very real possibility of winning something ridiculous.

FLY | Dance Forever pres. Benwal & Kyle Starkey — SWG3 is one of Europe's most exciting club spaces, and when FLY takes over from 10:00pm with Benwal and Kyle Starkey on the decks, the warehouse rooms come alive in a way that is genuinely difficult to describe to anyone who has not been. At £16–£26, this is the kind of night that justifies getting your second wind.
