Thursday in Manchester is serving up an absolute feast, and whether you want to sweat it out on a rooftop ramp, lose yourself in a cloud of laughs, or let drum and bass rattle your ribcage for a genuinely good cause, this city has got you covered. The Creatures Comedy Festival alone has scattered sharp, hilarious talent across half a dozen venues, turning the whole city centre into one big comedy club for the night. Strap in — it is going to be a brilliant one.

Highlights

Ramp On The Roof — Kick off your Thursday in the most unexpectedly thrilling way possible — on the roof of Depot Mayfield, one of Manchester's most architecturally dramatic spaces, watching skaters and BMX riders tear up a proper ramp suspended above the city. Starting at 11:00am with tickets from £0–£45, this is a rare chance to see serious skill in a seriously cool setting. Whether you are a lifelong skate fan or just someone who wandered in curious, the energy up there is infectious.

Ted Hill: Powerpoindexter || Creatures Comedy Festival — The Creatures Comedy Festival kicks off early at The Rat and Pigeon, and Ted Hill is the perfect way to ease yourself in at 6:00pm. His show Powerpoindexter promises the kind of nerdy, meticulously constructed comedy that makes you wonder why no one has thought of it before, and at just £8 it is one of the great bargains of the evening. Grab a drink, grab a seat, and let the festival begin.

48 Chicken Nuggets in a Sequin Dress (WIP) — With a title like that, you simply cannot stay away — this work-in-progress show at The Rat and Pigeon at 7:00pm is the kind of glorious, chaotic promise that comedy festivals were invented for. At only £5, the financial risk is minimal, but the potential reward in sheer joy is enormous. WIP nights have a beautiful rawness to them; you are watching something being born in real time.

Harriet Jaxxon presents: T1D // Manchester - A DnB Fundraiser — This one hits different — Harriet Jaxxon brings a proper drum and bass night to Joshua Brooks at 8:00pm, and every ticket sold goes towards supporting people living with Type 1 Diabetes. Priced at £8–£15, it is the rare club night where dancing harder genuinely means doing more good, and Joshua Brooks' basement sound system will make sure you feel every bassline in your chest. Come for the cause, stay for the relentless energy.

Milo Edwards: Work-in-Progress || Creatures Comedy Festival — Milo Edwards is one of those comedians who makes work-in-progress feel like a polished art form, and catching him at Creatures Comedy Club at 8:45pm is exactly the kind of late-evening treat this festival was designed for. Tickets run from £8–£12, and the intimate club atmosphere means you are genuinely part of the creative process. Bring your honest laugh — he will need it.

NORizz @ The Peer Hat w/ Kim Lana & Friends... — As the clock rolls past 10:00pm, the Peer Hat — Manchester's beloved, slightly wonderfully chaotic small venue — opens its doors for NORizz, featuring Kim Lana and a supporting cast of friends that promises something eclectic, intimate, and completely its own thing. At just £4, this is the kind of late-night discovery that people will talk about for months. Go in with no expectations and come out with a new favourite.
