What's On in Cardiff
Wednesday 23 September 2026 · This weekend · City guide
Wednesday in Cardiff has a quietly electric quality to it, that mid-week feeling where the city shakes off its routine and remembers how to have a proper night out. From a thunderous rock show to a comedian who has made the whole internet laugh, there are two very different but equally unmissable reasons to get out of the house tonight.
Highlights

I Prevail — Michigan metalcore heavyweights I Prevail bring their wall-of-sound energy to Depot Cardiff at 7:00pm, and if you have never experienced one of their live shows, brace yourself for something genuinely visceral. The band have built a fiercely loyal following with their knack for pairing crushing riffs with unexpectedly melodic hooks, and Depot's intimate industrial space is absolutely the right room for it. Tickets are available via the website, so check before you head out — this one has every chance of selling out.

Michael Spicer - Hope All's Well — If you know Michael Spicer from his wickedly sharp Room Next Door videos, you already know you are in for something very special at the Sherman Theatre tonight at 8:00pm. This live show gives him the stage to stretch out beyond the viral clips and into something altogether more personal and brilliantly observed, in one of Cardiff's most welcoming and intimate theatre spaces. Prices are available on the website, and given how quickly word spreads about Spicer, booking sooner rather than later is very much advised.
