What's On in Brighton

Sea Life Brighton - Standard Admission — There are few better ways to spend a grey November morning than losing yourself in the glowing, otherworldly calm of Sea Life Brighton, where sharks glide overhead and seahorses drift past like living jewels. Open from 10:00am, it is a brilliant option whether you are a family with wide-eyed kids in tow or simply someone who finds the underwater world quietly magical. Check the website for current ticket prices and to book your slot before heading down to the seafront.

The Secret Comedy Club Open Mic AKA See You Next Tuesday — Tucked inside the intimate and wonderfully characterful Artista Cafe And Gallery, this open mic night is one of Brighton's best-kept secrets and a genuine hotbed of emerging comedy talent. From 7:00pm for just £5, you get an unpredictable, gloriously unpolished evening where the next act could be a nervous first-timer or a quietly brilliant veteran working out new material. It is cheap, it is warm, and the laughs are absolutely earned — do not talk yourself out of going.

Von Hertzen Brothers (Acoustic Enough) — Finnish rock royalty the Von Hertzen Brothers bring their "Acoustic Enough" show to the beloved Komedia at 7:30pm, and if you have never heard these brothers blend prog, folk, and soaring melodic rock into something utterly their own, tonight is a very fine place to start. The acoustic setting strips everything back to reveal the real craftsmanship at the heart of their songs, making for an intimate and genuinely moving evening. At £29, it is a proper night out with music that will stay with you long after the last chord fades.
