Highlights

The Park Series presents MADNESS — This is the big one. Madness — the Nutty Boys themselves — bring their irresistible, brass-fuelled ska-pop to the gorgeous open-air setting of Abbey Park from 2:00pm, and if you have ever seen them live you will know that the crowd becomes one enormous, grinning, skanking family within about thirty seconds. Tickets run from £50 to £95 and are absolutely worth every penny for what promises to be a landmark summer afternoon in the city.

Johnny2Bad - UB40 Tribute — If the reggae vibes of the afternoon have got under your skin, keep the riddim going into the evening at 2Funky Music Cafe, where Johnny2Bad bring their lovingly crafted UB40 tribute to the stage from 8:00pm. Expect all the classics — Red Red Wine, Kingston Town, Can't Help Falling in Love — delivered with warmth and real musicianship in one of Leicester's most characterful live music spaces. Tickets start at £12, making this an excellent value Saturday night out.

Milky this is England Dj Set — Round off a tremendous Saturday night at Sally Cinnamon's Music Venue, where Milky steps behind the decks from 9:00pm for a DJ set rooted in the sounds and attitude of This Is England — think post-punk, indie, Madchester, and the glorious messiness of British youth culture. At just £10, this is a brilliant low-cost ticket for anyone who wants a proper night out with a distinctly homegrown flavour and a crowd who really know their music.
